Free calculator use — nothing is stored

If you use a free calculator and don't go any further, Buildmator stores nothing about you or your project. Your inputs and results live only in your browser's temporary session storage, so the numbers stay filled in if you move to the advanced version — that data is cleared automatically when your browser session ends, and it's never sent to Buildmator's servers just from calculating.

Advanced estimates — same, until you unlock

Opening the advanced version of a calculator and answering its questions doesn't create a record either — those answers stay in your browser the same way, and nothing is sent to Buildmator's servers. A record is only created if you complete the "Unlock My Full Estimate" form.

What's stored when you unlock a full estimate

Submitting the unlock form sends your first name, last name, email, phone number, postal code/region, and your project's inputs and calculated results to Buildmator, where they're stored so we can provide your full estimate and follow up about your project if appropriate. If you complete an unlock form more than once with the same email, region, and calculator, Buildmator updates your existing record rather than creating a duplicate — earlier projects on other calculators or in other regions are kept, not overwritten.

What Buildmator does not do

• Buildmator does not email or text your estimate to you — your full result is unlocked directly on the page.
• Buildmator does not use a CRM or share your details with a marketing platform.
• Buildmator does not sell your information.
• Buildmator does not connect you with contractors or share your details with third parties for that purpose.

Third-party services

Buildmator is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests to serve the site and store submitted data (Cloudflare Pages and D1). The unlock form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission is coming from a real browser, not a bot — this involves Cloudflare processing your request in order to verify it.

Buildmator uses Google Analytics to understand overall site usage, and Google Search Console to monitor search performance. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish sessions and collects standard technical information (such as your approximate location derived from IP address, device, and browser). The events Buildmator itself sends to Google Analytics — for example, that a calculator was viewed or an estimate was unlocked — carry only the tool and region involved, never your name, email, phone, postal code, or the specific numbers from your project. Search Console does not receive any data from Buildmator directly; it reports on how the site appears in Google Search results.

Your data, your choices

You can ask what Buildmator has stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing privacy@buildmator.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what's collected or how it's used, this page will be updated and the date above will change.
